Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Friday Giving?

Friday Giving is an opportunity to give Sadaqah on Jumu’ah, the most blessed day of the week in Islam. As the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday.” By donating, you contribute to the upkeep and activities of the masjid, earning immense rewards in both this life and the Hereafter.

Why should I donate on Friday?

Giving on Jumu’ah aligns with the heightened blessings and virtues of this day. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Charity does not diminish wealth.” It is a chance to multiply your rewards, seek Allah’s pleasure, and secure your place in Jannah.

What If I Forget To Donate Every Friday?

You can support our Taskforce projects actively aiding, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia and more at https://www.taskforceglm.org

How will my donation help?

Your donation supports vital initiatives, including maintaining the masjid for daily prayers, educational programmes, youth support, women’s activities, foodbank services, counselling, and dawah efforts to spread the word of Islam. Every penny you give sustains acts of worship and community welfare.

What reward will I gain for donating?

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” Supporting the masjid is Sadaqah Jariyah, meaning the rewards will continue to flow for as long as the masjid and its activities benefit others.

Can I set up a recurring donation for Fridays?

Yes, you can automate your giving every Jumu’ah to ensure consistent rewards. Imagine the ongoing barakah you achieve by contributing weekly to the house of Allah.

Is my donation considered Zakat or Sadaqah?

Donations to the masjid are generally considered Sadaqah. However, if you wish to fulfil your Zakat obligations, you can do this at www.checkout.greenlanemasjid.org for local zakat and for international zakat, you can donate through our humanitarian arm at www.taskforceglm.org

Can I donate on behalf of someone else?

Yes, you can donate on behalf of loved ones, whether alive or deceased. This is a beautiful form of Sadaqah Jariyah for them, bringing rewards to their scale of deeds.

What makes donating to the masjid so special?

Supporting the masjid means facilitating acts of worship, Quran recitation, dawah efforts, and community services. As the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” Every penny you donate is a brick in your eternal home.
